HC orders for filling teacher posts under Maratha quota

The Bombay High Court on Wednesday ordered the government of Maharashtra to fill up on ad hoc grounds the vacancies for post of professors and teachers in colleges & educational institutions.

They were all reserved under the sixteen per cent quota for Marathas. A division bench comprising Justice GS Kulkarni and Chief Justice Mohit Shah quizzed the reason behind the vacancies.

This is despite the court imposing a stay on the implementation of 16 per cent reservation to Marathas. In November 2014, the HC high court stayed implementation of the decision of the Congress-NCP government.
