Onnum Mindathe Malluwood Movie Review
Story:
A weak tale, the story is about Sachidanandan (jayaram) who is happy with his wife Shayama (meera jasmine) and daughter Kunji (baby anakha). His life takes a turn when his childhood friend Jose (manoj) comes from Gulf to stays with them. He provokes Sachidanandan to break the monotony of family life and enjoy the company of another woman Rose (sarayu). What happens from there forms the rest.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a routine storyline and while the presentation was regular, the narrative was not absorbing. The dialogues were weak. The script was below average and the screenplay made it worse. The background score was alright and two songs were worth watching. Cinematography was effective. Editing was required at few places. Costumes were upto the mark while the art department was apt. Jayaram did his bit mechanically and didn’t have anything special to offer, Meera Jasmine also looked uninvolved and dry. Manoj Jayan was the only saving grace with his act. Baby Anakha was cute. Joy Mathew was alright, Balachandran was usual.

Conclusion:
The film happens to be the remake of the same title and thought he original worked really well during the 80s the same cannot be expected int oday’s time. The first half goes about with the layering of the plot and the interval bang was expected. The second half goes with some elements of sentiment, melodrama but the emotional quotient was missing. Overall, this is a film which has not attempted to adapt to the contemporary times and just did a lift and shift process. At the box office, success is very unlikely.
