Story: A gripping tale, the story is about Krishnan (kunchacko) who takes leave from work at Palakkad to join his pregnant wife at Kovalam. Meanwhile, there is a crude moneylender Sethu (manoj) who sees an accident involving the daughter and grand daughter of Freddy (janardhanan) and takes them to hospital. At the same time, he is also being followed by the ghost of Johnny. Then there is inspector Mathew (kalabhavan) who is annoyed with his wife praying in mangrove trees. How each one’s lives get connected forms the rest.
Presentation: The director has come up with a supernatural storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was engaging in parts. The dialogues were sensible. The script was above average and the screenplay was unconventional. The background score was melodious and songs were worth watching. Cinematography was the main strength to this film. Editing was required at few places. Costumes were upto the mark while the art department was majestic. Kunchacko has done a very good job while Bhama looks pretty and neat, Manoj K Jayan was fabulous, Janardhanan was elegant, Kalabhavan Mani was cool, Joy Thomas was apt. Others did their bit as required and added value.
Conclusion: The very genre of supernatural stories is quite challenging because the maker has to provide enough shock points and goosebump experiences. This film was fairly successful in that. The first half goes around with the layering of the plot and the interval bang was interesting. The second half revolves around connecting the dots and it provides a good premise for the climax. Overall, this is a film which would work with those who seek experimental stories and not for commercial audience. At the box office, this would be a profit grosser.
