Mr Rascal Tollywood Movie Review

A rotten tale, the story begins with Suri Babu (ravindranath) who is a vagabond drunkard with no respect towards his parents. The only person he looks up to is his uncle (prakash raj), an encounter specialist. One day, Suri Babu manages to shoot a video of a rich man's wife (madhumati) having an illicit affair. From then on, he starts blackmailing her for money. With that money, he lands in Bangkok with his friends. Here, Suri Babu comes across Soundarya (payal) and it is love at first sight for him. From then on, he begins to woo her but for this, he has to change himself from a bad guy to a good guy. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Mr Rascal Telugu Cinema Review

The director has come up with a routine storyline and while the presentation was poor, the narrative was not that strong. The dialogues were insensible at places, the script was not well written and the screenplay was weak. Background score was good but almost all the songs were bad. Cinematography was effective. Editing was regular. Costumes were colorful while the art department was average. Ravindranath has a lot to learn before he has to make his mark as a hero, his body language, styling and expressions must change. Payal Ghosh was a surprise with ultra sexy avatar. Madhumathi looks sensuous. Prakash Raj was matured, Brahmanandam's comedy was just okay. The others didn't get much scope to offer.

Mr Rascal Filem Review

As such, the film tends to take a lot of inspiration from movies such as Thiruttu Payale, Shriman 420 etc. The other drawback is the protagonist. While the first half goes about with the mindless comedy, songs and romance, the second half gets into few predictable twists and a stale climax. Overall, the film has nothing gripping for the audience and it might provide some relief to the hardcore front benchers due to the sex appeal and skin show of the actresses. At the box office, this will sink for sure.
