Kantri Tollywood Movie Review

A racy thriller, the story begins with Kranthi (NTR) who grows at an orphanage and is willing to do anything for its welfare. In this process, he comes across the gang of Seshu (Ashish Vidyarthi) and Pothuraju who is known as P R (Prakash Raj) and joins hands with them. Both of them are criminals from a long time and establish a strong network and with the inclusion of Kranti, things become even better. Meanwhile, Kranti comes across the beautiful Varalakshmi (Hansika) and falls in love with her instantly. Tales of events happen and she starts reciprocating to his feelings. However, differences arise between Kranthi & PR and Kranthi separates from the gang and joins hands with Das (Sayaji Shinde) to kill PR. What he realizes is that PR is his own father, who left his mother and went on to become a big man. Things take a change and Kranti enters PR household, meets Priya (Tanishaa), who is Seshu's daughter. Even she falls in love with Kranti. What happens in the end? Does Kranti go for Varalakshmi or Priya? Is PR really his father? To know this, watch the movie.

Kantri Telugu Cinema Review

The director has come with an interesting plot and has presented it in a racy fashion, even the narration of the movie goes at a quick pace and there are not many dull moments in the movie. Full marks to the music for coming out with some real good numbers and stunt, dance choreography. The editing was crisp and provided a momentum. The camera was good in many moments but it failed to capture the foreign locations that well. The script was tight and the dialogues at few places were very witty, the screenplay was perfect. NTR has come again with a good performance though it lacked the adrenaline in his earlier roles. His dialogue delivery has become quite mild but then his dances and stunts were simply extraordinary. Hansika was looking fresh as the morning sunshine and Tanishaa though brief in her role had the required oomph. Prakash raj yet again has delivered a power packed performance and interestingly he has danced quite a bit in a song. Ashish Vidyarthi was average, Sayaji Shinde was underutilized. The others were just about okay. The comedy track was not very convincing despite all the major comedians and their roles were momentary considering their numbers.

Kantri Filem Review

Technically a well made film, the movie has got a very good blend of suspense and twists in the story. Unlike the regular Telugu flicks, the first half begins with violence and shades of romance and it is the second half where things cool down and follow the track of sentiment, a little bit of comedy and melodrama which kind of drags the story at few instants. The film could have been a lot better if the comedy track was strong and there was not enough intensity on the romance side too. The dance and stunts of NTR with some interesting dialogues will get the movie a commercial success, but honestly the film would have been the perfect recipe if the comedy and romance was worked with more attention.

Bharatstudent verdict: Can be watched, technically a well made film.
