Muppozhudum Un Karpanaigal Kollywood Movie Review

Story: A clich├ęd tale, the story begins with Ram (adharvaa) who is the head of an IT firm in Chennai and he is in love with a girl called Charu (amala). He works real hard and spends few days with Charu who is in Bangalore. The story takes a turn when another girl called Latha (amala) comes from USA to Chennai as she is the CEO of the firm which Ram manages. She is surprised to see Ram and later, she takes the help of a psychiatrist (jayaprakash) to discover the past of Ram. In this process, she discovers some really shocking facts. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Presentation: The director has come up with a formula storyline and while the presentation was grand, the narrative was not that strong. The dialogues were good at places. The script was written moderately and screenplay was adequate. Background score was energetic and three songs were worth humming. Cinematography was top notch. Editing was upto the mark. Costumes were trendy and stylish while the art department was colorful and natural. Adharvaa comes up with a natural performance and was nice. Amala Paul was excellent and she sizzles with her sex appeal. Jayaprakash was good. Nasser was not used to his potential. Santhanam brought few smiles. Anupama Kumar was apt.

Conclusion: The film takes off on a promising note and it must be said that the presentation was quite glossy and stylish. However, a good film should also have enough content and material to grab the attention of the audience. While the first half goes in the routine manner, it is the interval bang which looks promising. However, there were not enough twists during the second half making it quite predictable. Overall, this is a film which focused more on the style than substance. At the box office, this could be an average grosser.
Bharatstudent verdict: Stylish treat but not enough depth
