Senior Mandrake Malluwood Movie Review
Story:
A continuation the original, the story begins with Kuttan (jagathy) who has now become a very rich man and the reason for that is, he has finally managed to get rid of the cursed statue. However, things take a turn when the statue eventually gets back to his shop and as expected, things begin to collapse. In no time, Kuttan is in dire straits and since he knows the reason, he gets onto the mission of finding some unfortunate person who can get hold of it and save him from the misery. Also, he gets hold of a scientist to figure out the powers of this statue and why this is happening. Whether Kuttan is successful in finding a person and what happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with the regular tale and this time, both the presentation and the narrative have been a letdown. The dialogues were weak, the script was stale and the screenplay was below average. Background score didn't do much and two songs were good. Cinematography was the saving grace and editing was required at many places. The art department was decent and made its presence felt while costumes didn't have to work hard. Jagathy Sreekumar has done this before so not much for him, Jagadish was okay, Charutha looked sensuous, Kalpana was casual, Suraj and Salim tried their bit to add some laughs but not much effective. The others need no mention here.

Conclusion:
The film happens to be a sequel to the original movie 'Junior Mandrake' and though that was a hit, the sequel could not meet the expectations of the audience. While the first half was okay, the second half was weak and there were many places where the audience was not engaged to keep the interest on. The technical values and production values were very poor and it appeared that the film was made in haste. Overall, the film will fizzle out at the box office.
