Ordinary Malluwood Movie Review

Story: An interesting tale, the story begins with Iravi (kunchacko) who is a small time politician but now becomes a conductor due to a certain reason. His first day at work makes him good friends with driver Suku (biju menon) and both operate the one single bus which plies between the villages of Gavi and Patthanamittha. During their job, they have routine passengers right from the drunkard Wakkachan (Baburaj), Panchayath member Venu Mash(Lalu Alex) and Kalyani (vaiga). There are also the local priest and many others. One day, the bus has a breakdown and after the repairs, Iravi has to drive it back since Suku is totally drunk. But one incident happens while he is driving back. What is that incident and how things take shape after that forms the rest of the story.

Ordinary Malayalam Cinema Review

Presentation: The director has come up with an interesting storyline and while the presentation was captivating, the narrative was good. The dialogues were written with wit and humour. The script was neat and the screenplay was good in parts. Background score was nice and two songs were well shot. Cinematography was the key highlight. Editing was crisp and effective. Costumes were natural while the art department was colorful. Kunchacko Boban came up with a different performance and scores, Biju Menon was best. Shritha Sivadas was upto the mark. Ann Augustine could have been better. Baburaj was moderate, Lalu Alex was natural and others did their bit as required.

Ordinary Filem Review

Conclusion: The filmmaker must be hailed for taking out a simple concept and engaging the audience for two plus hours. While the first half goes about with elements of comedy and drama, the second half gets a bit serious but it has enough factors to keep the audience busy. At the box office, the film will strike a chord for its different approach and story telling but it may not have enough for the mass masala audience. But it has every potential to reach the safe zone.
