Story:
A horror tale but not with a spine chilling experience the story is about Yagna (Priyanka) who is the owner of an ancestral house and unfortunately for her she has to take care of the property which is on the outskirts. She wants to let it out for sale but then whoever takes the house for rent earlier dies under mysterious circumstances which results in no one coming forward to buy it. She takes the onus and moves in with her friends for a project but in no time vacates as her friend claims to see an evil spirit. In comes Anji (Srimurali) , a local goon specializing in land disputes and settlements and he accepts the condition to stay there and his idea is to take over that property as per his Don. Yagna agrees and he moves in with his group but yet again his friend gets killed unknowingly. What follows from there forms the rest of the story.
Presentation:
Director seems to have taken the lead from a Telugu hit but then he has not been able to deliver. The technical teams have done a decent job with quality editing and fine production work. The dialogues were okay, the script could have been better and the screenplay failed to shine. Music was essential but it did not give that tension. Cinematography was mediocre. Coming to the cast, Srimurali seems to have done well in action scenes but his character was not etched out well. Yagna oozed out her oomph in a big way and it was more of a visual feast. The comedy track by Om Prakash Rao and the other Telugu cast was not able to evoke any laughter.
Conclusion:
The film happens to be more of a remake of the Telugu super hit 'Mantra' and the makers have tweaked it a bit with their creativity. But overall, the plot has been a lift from that one. However, they were not able to keep the momentum and the suspense like in the original. The narrative was the major drawback and also few flaws in the technical aspects cost the movie. Also, the inclusion of so many Telugu faces brought in unfamiliarity and the lack of spice in comedy also contributed for the loss.
