Porkhi Sandalwood Movie Review
A remake tale, the story begins with Dattu (darshan) who is a street side ruffian and he has no qualms in beating up the pulp out of goons and even killing them. He is also an expert in shooting and with his activities, he becomes associated with all the gangs in the city. On the other hand, he has a love track going on in the form of Anjali (pranitha). Soon, she discovers his true identity and though she is shocked, she is not able to let go of him. Meanwhile, the story takes a turn when the dreaded don (ashish vidyarthi) comes in and that's when a truth about Dattu is revealed. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.
Porkhi Kannada Cinema Review
The director has come up with good competence in comparison with the original and both the presentation and narrative are neat. The dialogues had their own pack of punch, the script was regular and the screenplay was the impressive part. Background score was racy and three songs were good. Cinematography was exceptional. Costumes were glamorous and the art department was rich. Darshan came up with a superb performance and he has done justice in all departments. Pranitha looks truly sexy and her glam show is a real visual feast for all viewers. She has potential to grow. Devaraj was neat, Ashish Vidyarthi was good, Avinash was average, Shobaraj was standard, Manoj was mediocre, Sangeetha Shetty was sensuous, the others did their bit as required.
Porkhi Filem Review
The film happens to be the remake of the blockbusters in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. However, the makers have tweaked the script a little to suit the taste of the Kannada audience. While the first half is light hearted with humor, romance, songs and action, the second half gets serious and emotional with a gripping climax. The key here is for those who have already seen the original. Comparison is natural but for those who are seeing it fresh will feel the real impact. Production values and technical aspects are high and the masses will lap it up without a doubt. At the box office, the film will have a smooth run.
Bharatstudent Verdict: Don't compare with original, its good
