Munjaane Sandalwood Movie Review

Story: An unusual tale, the story begins with Manu Moorthy (ganesh) and Pavithra (manjari) who get close through Facebook and fall in love. However, Pavithra’s habit of writing short sentences leads to confusion as she fails to take the number of Moorthy and in the process they also fail to take the right bus when they plan to meet. Meanwhile, the deadline that Pavithra gave for her marriage comes to an end and she decides to get married to the person of her parents choice. The story takes a twist when the marriage happens with Moorthy. However, both don’t know their real identity and are still in search of their true love. In no time, they apply for divorce. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Munjaane Kannada Cinema Review

Presentation: The director has come up with a different storyline and while the presentation was decent, the narrative was unusual. The dialogues were having some depth. The script was neatly written but screenplay was a little complicated. Background score was energetic and most of the songs were worth humming. Cinematography captures the visuals nicely. Editing was crisp. Costumes were well designed and trendy while the art department was a visual feast. Ganesh has come up with a good performance and he carries the film well. Manjari looks seductive and she gave a sincere effort. Malavika Avinash was moderate, Lakshmi Devi was okay, Rajendra Karanth was regular.

Munjaane Filem Review

Conclusion: At the outset, the film comes across with a rather eyebrow raising concept of going for a divorce if you are in love with someone. Of course, the cinematic liberties worked for the film but then it is the screenplay and the performances which made it look convincing. While the first half goes about with the elements of romance, the interval bang gives the twist. The second half goes about with connecting the dots and the climax is predictable. At the box office, the film might get some extreme reactions but still it would be able to reach the profit zone comfortably.
