Awarapan Bollywood Movie Review

The saving grace of Awarapan is Emraan Hashmi who has excelled as an able actor. After doing all the lover boy image roles in his previous half a dozen movies, Emraan emerges as talented actor. But wait a minute; Emraan still has a long way to go and all the tall claims by Mahesh Bhatt about his outstanding acting in Awarapan falls short by a long distance.  Awarapan, as a movie doesn't have much to offer, it is still the same old wine in the new bottle. The only change what we get to see is - it is very concise and it moves at a fast pace. We have to appreciate Bollywood young directors for making movies with 2 hrs time including songs.

Awarapan Hindi Cinema Review

Loosely based on the Korean film, 'A Bittersweet Life' (Directed by Kim Ji-woon), Awarapan, is the story of a hit man, Shivam (Emraan Hashmi), who works for Malik (Ashutosh Rana). Before leaving for London, Mallik assigns a task to Shivam to keep an eye on his mistress Reema (Mrinalini), if found guilty he asks him to kill her. From the moment Shivam sets his eyes on Reema, his frozen past begins to raise its head. He is reminded of his lost love [Shriya Saran] and how he had failed to save it from a catastrophe. Shivam fears turns into reality when he finds out Reema is indeed in love with Bilal (Rehan) and is planning to elope to Pakistan, their homeland. Shivam's heart changes, seeing the true love between both the couples and he set both of them free. The resulting consequences lead to forming the rest of the plot.

Awarapan Filem Review

Mohit Suri, as a director was good, but he should have done better by shooting certain sequences in proper format. Seems like the whole intention of Bhatt camp was on giving the film international exposure. With many dark scenes and Bangkok city life in the background the team tried giving it an international look but was successful only at few places.  Lot of emphasis is given on God and spirituality and places it looks like the movie is forcing everyone to accept God otherwise we are failed to doom in this world. Bhatt clan is just hell bent on showing Pakistan as a good neighbors and also tried the best to bridge the communal gap between Hindus and Muslims, though the attempt was novel, it l looked more  like preachy then natural. Though the movie was short, at many places, the movie tends to slow down and appears dull, the second half of the story is figured out by the end of first half. Audience stayed in the movie hall only to find out its execution.

Pritam's musical score is refreshing. The tunes are fresh and so are the voices it reminded everyone of Himesh Reshammiya. On actors' front, Ashutosh Rana did a wonderful job, his dialogue delivery were splendid. Aashish VIdyarthi has been wasted. Salil Acharya was fresh, though much hype has been made about his dress; all the scenes wherever he has featured were too dark to identify his killer dressing.

Shriya, has the charm and she could exude it beautifully with whatever little screen space she got. Mrinalini is the girl to watch; she looks superb and is sure to bag more roles from Bhatt camp. On the whole, the only appealing factor in Awarapan is Emraan, with his French cut and long hair, Emraan is hatke, people may flock cinema halls to watch the different Emraan who didn't have a single kissing scene in the movie.
